Lisegazini. Football is culture, it’s not just another sporting code. The chances of developing a Messi, a Neymar, Ronaldinho or Zidane are diminished by the fact that kids in the US probably don’t live in an environment where ball knowledge is passed down from their fathers, uncles and older brothers, skills honed in the streets, often barefoot scoring against a brick, or in an open field of 30+ players going at it for no reward, just passion for the game. You’re about a century behind.
Americans prioritise height and athleticism in most of their sporting codes, but Messi who is considered the goat plays the game as a so called short person. You see what I mean? Football can’t be played by machines and robots, it has soul. “Mawumnandi uMnandi” Flair can’t be taught, in fact, flair has to be coached out of a player at times. He’s almost born with it. America can start a project 3026, because their entire culture will have to shift to accommodate the craftsmanship of being a world class player, and that might take 100 years. As America will likely create special programs for young kids to excel in the sport, there’s a young boy in the favelas of Brazil who already has an immaculate first touch and dribbling ability…and I can promise you now, he figured it out himself because every single day of his life…his feet touched a ball. I’m just kicking some game⚽️, I hope it helps.
