Melanie has died.
Her 1972 album "Garden In The City" came with a scratch & sniff sleeve that genuinely smelled of flowers.
I just checked. After 52 years my copy still does. A miracle. Or maybe it is just blooming for all us old devotees once more this evening.
RIP & Bravo.
We as a society do not make enough space for grief. We manage it so poorly. We wait for it to be over or the person to be “back to normal” so we can have our needs met or don’t have to deal with it. Burying it is almost lorded as a “sign of strength”.
@RachelGardnerRA Great time talking about women in leadership at Gather Youth Group this evening. You were up there with Catherine Booth, Jackie Pullinger and Florence Nightingale 🙂
It's been 6 long years - and I can't believe I can FINALLY share this photo.
Nazanin is now in the air flying away from 6 years of hell in Iran.
My heart goes out to Gabriella and Richard, as her long journey back home to them gets closer by the minute.
#NazaninIsFree ❤️
I am very pleased to say that Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has been given her British passport back.
She is still at her family home in Tehran. I also understand that there is a British negotiating team in Tehran right now.
I will keep posting updates as I get them.

It's sad the UK is not a part of the EU, sad no British MEPs there today to cheer Zelensky, sad we have been so diminished by Brexit. We have left a superpower. What for?
PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE. Get #Yemen trending! It's a hell on earth right now. Innocent civilians are bombarded in cold blood, while the internet is down. I don't know what to say else. At least 300 people were killed or wounded over the past 24 hours. I am running out of words...
I'm still trying to process that 24 hours ago, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates disabled an entire country's internet service while committing various massacres around #Yemen and this isn't top news everywhere.
@PookyH I am going to plant dahlias this year. Just researching biggest, brightest, dinner-plate size blooms, most bonkers, 1970s style dahlia tubers I can purchase online.
@cag352 It was my father-in-law’s 80th birthday today. I remember visiting him in the coronary care unit when he had a big heart attack 20something years ago.
