@Dread_Botlord @YaBoi_ChipsAhoy The climax is him choosing not to kill Vader which in the scene is presented as the same thing as him rejecting the dark side. It's very easily to extrapolate from that that the power to kill Vader is related to the dark side.

@Dread_Botlord @YaBoi_ChipsAhoy The reason the metaphor and Luke's character arc work is because we have this more traditional sense of what "strength" means and intrinsically understand why it would be tempting. It can then be contrasted with the "true" strength that is harder to understand but more valuable

@Dread_Botlord The fact that Luke can become more powerful and defeat Vader by giving in to the dark side, but chooses not to, is what gives that moment its thematic weight. How is powerscaling not relevant to that?
