A £1 beach toy is costing seals their lives. Campaigners warn plastic flying rings are being lost and drifting into the sea. The founder of the Seal Research Trust Sue Sayer is now taking the fight to Westminster, calling for a UK-wide ban.

A lump on the neck. That's all the initial report said 💔 .
When this swan arrived with us, our veterinary team began investigating the cause of the swelling. Sadly, the answer was all too familiar.
An X-ray revealed a pellet embedded in her neck.
Someone, somewhere, had fired a catapult or similar weapon at this legally protected bird. The pellet narrowly missed causing catastrophic injuries, and she was incredibly lucky to survive.
This is exactly why we work alongside Naturewatch Foundation as part of their **Target Crime, Not Wildlife** campaign. Every year, we see the devastating consequences of wildlife persecution, with animals injured, maimed and killed by weapons that are far too easily obtained and used against wildlife.
For this swan, the outcome could have been very different.
Instead of spending this time of year out on the water, potentially preparing to raise a family of her own, she is recovering in a hospital enclosure because of a completely preventable act of cruelty.
No wild animal should have to endure this.
Please join us in supporting calls for stronger legislation around the sale and possession of catapults and other weapons commonly used to harm wildlife.
Together, we can help ensure fewer animals suffer injuries like this in the future.

🚨 MINNIE MUST MOVE TO A SANCTUARY NOW 🚨
Commerford Zoo’s last surviving Elephant, Minnie, remains alone and in a small, concrete enclosure in Connecticut that cannot meet her physical or psychological needs. Her companions, Elephants Beulah and Karen, died several years ago after decades being used for circus performances, photo opportunities, and rides.
Beulah and Karen never experienced freedom, but it does not have to be too late for Minnie to go to one of the US Elephant sanctuaries where she could have companionship, space, and a sense of freedom.
SPEAK UP FOR MINNIE. Urge Commerford Zoo to retire her to sanctuary.

If you live in CT, you can also contact your state legislators and urge them to introduce a bill to prohibit the use of wild animals in traveling acts.

"Investigation launched after foul-smelling sewage enters Welsh river."
Welsh Water up to their old tricks again I see. Oh and their version of a regulator, Natural Resources Wales is just as hopeless as their English counterpart the Environment Agency.

When you think you have seen it all then have a look at this DUCK TORTURE TRUCK 👺The scumbag bastards responsible for this should do jail time and never come close to an animal for the rest of their lives😡#StopTheTorture#EndAnimalExploitation#LiveVegan take a stand against animal abuse 🙏
"Environment Agency accused of 'lip-service' on sewage crisis after downgrading 96% of serious pollution incidents."
Yep you read that correctly, not only has the EA being allowing water companies to mark their own homework they've being joining in the fun down grading the most serious pollution incidents to get them off their books, close the files and hope no-one notices.
Well, they've been caught.

Too many people who should know better are lining up to defend Natural England today for what is a poorly thought out out grazing policy, that could have devastating consequences for the dwindling population of semi wild ponies on Dartmoor
Worth signing this if only to force another U turn from Stamer before he packs his bags from Downing Street
