I’m excited to share that my article, “Physarum computation in architecture: a critique of bio-digital design,” is published in the Architectural Research Quarterly (@CambridgeUP ), Volume 28, Issue 4, pp. 387-398. (AHCI indexed - Q2).
Date and time: 19 May 2026, 13:00–15:00 (UK Time), 15:00-17:00 (TR Time)

I am pleased to share that I will be giving an invited talk titled “On the Nature of Bio-Digital Design” as part of the Enlarging the Computational Spectrum lecture series at the Bartlett School of Architecture @BartlettArchUCL
Many thanks to Elly Selby, Tom Holberton and Roberto Bottazzi for the kind invitation.
The event will take place in Room 505, 25 Gordon Street, London WC1H 0AY. Online participation will also be available via Zoom.
The course will run from 9 February 2026 to 22 May 2026. If you would like to follow the weekly content and reading lists, feel free to send me a direct message, and I will share them throughout the term.
Happy to announce that I will be opening a new elective course:
"ARCH3042: Artificial Intelligence in Architecture: History, Theory and Criticism"
for third-year undergraduate architecture students at Karadeniz Technical University @tcktu1955
It aims to familiarise students with the fundamental concepts and paradigms of AI, ranging from early cybernetics and computational logic to contemporary machine learning, and to critically examine their manifestations in architectural design theory and professional practice.
I’m excited to share that my article, “Physarum computation in architecture: a critique of bio-digital design,” is published in the Architectural Research Quarterly (@CambridgeUP ), Volume 28, Issue 4, pp. 387-398. (AHCI indexed - Q2).
It examines the limits, possibilities, and distinctions between physical and digital computation to propose new ways Physarum polycephalum might facilitate alternative interactions between evolution, computation, and the built environment.
Its aim is to illustrate the paradigm shift introduced by evolutionary theory in shaping the relationship between nature and architecture, and to show how this shift gave rise to two distinct design perspectives in the 1990s.
I’m pleased to share the publication of my article, “Process Versus Object: Evolutionary Architecture Theories of John Frazer and Eugene Tsui,” in the METU Journal of the Faculty of Architecture, Vol. 42, Issue 2 (AHCI indexed).

The article underscores the importance of the philosophy of nature in architectural design by comparing the process-oriented and object-oriented evolutionary architecture theories of John Frazer and Eugene Tsui.
I'm pleased to share that I've started my new role as Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture at Karadeniz Technical University (@tcktu1955).
Looking forward to teaching, learn and growing together with my colleagues and outstanding students!
I look ahead with gratitude, hope, and curiosity about what the future holds. For as long as I live, I will remain compelled to act, to reflect, and to seek meaning within the theatre of existence.
I am happy to share that I passed the PhD viva examination for my thesis.
The title of my PhD thesis is: "Evolution and Computation in Architecture: A Critique of Bio-digital Design".
@BartlettArchUCL
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the @tcmeb_en for supporting my doctoral studies at @BartlettArchUCL , University College London, over the course of four years.
