So Egg will eventually become King Aegon V, one of the most loved kings in Westeros history.

He'll spend his reign protecting smallfolk, sending food to the North during harsh winters, and actually caring about common people. Dunk stays by his side the whole time, eventually becoming Lord Commander of the Kingsguard.

However, here's the heartbreaking part: Egg becomes obsessed with bringing the dragons back. He gathers seven dragon eggs, works with pyromancers and wildfire, and it all goes wrong at Summerhall.

Both Dunk and Egg die in that fire together.

Knowing this ending makes every moment between them now feel heavier.
