The efforts and impact made by schools surrounding SEL & behavioral programs & services must be celebrated and grown versus shunned and suppressed.
The whole child means the WHOLE child.
Politics should not define the whole.
Kids.
Kids First.
Kids First Always.
My mother died of COVID-19 one month ago.
I am going to share the story of her illness in the hope that it helps someone. She was a doctor and always wanted to help people. If this informs anyone else’s behavior or care, maybe she still can. Please RT. 1/n
The tech side of me wishes I was teaching in a virtual classroom this year so I could use all of the newest tech tools and make a bitmoji classroom. I’ve seen some awesome ones. So creative! #edtech#technerd
Those who never had interest in funding SEL & often referred to it as “fluff” or “only family responsibilities” are now saying it’s a primary reason for student return.
Should we anticipate future adequate funding for counselors, social workers, behaviorist, SEL PD, ... ? 🤷🏼♀️
Saddened about the sudden passing of @candicedodson. Candice was a tireless champion for students & educators. She served IN well as the Director of eLearning for several yrs & was a friend to many. She will be greatly missed. Thoughts are w/her family during this difficult time.
Proud to be part of a school system that cares so much for our students and recognizes their achievements during this difficult time! #Classof2020#ProudToBeAPanther
Great post from @LINC_PD Transformation Agent @Bernier_Jenn about how to spark some joy and engagement into your classroom through Whole Group Rotation. This is a fun and easy path into #blendedlearning. https://t.co/BjTsgebCYf
Being an instructional leader doesn’t always mean you are providing expertise in teaching and learning. Sometimes… it just means you are helping to shape the conditions in which your teachers can thrive. Sometimes, it’s just about building the right culture.
On parent information night, as a parent, the main things I care about are that you love your job, you love my kid, and that my kid will be learning important things. Make sure I know that before we go over grading policies and I will have your back all year long. #SerendipityEDU
