The NBA has also provided ongoing annual support in the $10-15 million range to cover operations, marketing, and other costs. It also shares infrastructure, promotion, and media frameworks with the WNBA.

Until very recently, the WNBA lost money every single year.

Beginning in 1997, with their first season of play, losses were about $10 million a year.

But in 2024, losses came in at around $40-$50 million.

Even with those league losses, the Indiana Fever made $32 million in 2024, making it the league revenue leader.

The year before, the Fever only made........$9.1 million.
