The story of Martha and Mary always teaches me something important. Martha was busy worrying about everything that needed to be done while Mary sat at Jesus’ feet. How many of us are like Martha constantly worrying, planning, and trying to fix everything ourselves? Sometimes God isn’t asking us to do more. Sometimes He’s asking us to sit with Him longer, to be still, to trust, and to remember that His presence is more important than our productivity. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed lately, maybe what your soul needs isn’t another task completed but more time with God.
It's okay to not understand some things in Christianity. One day you will know. God may bring a book your way or you may hear a sermon. You can even be quietly reading your Bible and the Holy Spirit teaches you. Just remain open and allow yourself to learn normally. Stop rushing growth or comparing yourself to others.
For instance, I don't really understand communion but I'm trusting I will gain a deep knowledge of it. The other day, I was ruminating on the Holy Spirit - that He is the one who reveals Jesus, so maybe it was apt that I developed a strong affinity for Him first so that now, He can accelerate my knowledge of Jesus.
The summary is, just remain open and be hungry for knowledge and God will fill you.
Lord Jesus,
When we don't understand what you're doing, help us trust your character.
When the future feels uncertain, remind us that you are not uncertain.
Give us peace in the waiting, courage in the unknown, and confidence in Your faithfulness.
Amen. 🙏
it’s the greatest honor of my life to step out for the God who makes my heart beat. The Almighty. He wants to show Himself. come and see Him.
