I want EVERY Democratic supporter, EVERY independent voter and EVERY undecided voter to take a moment to read this and listen to this statement by @AOC which absolutely encapsulates this MISSION CRITICAL MOMENT.

America owes this outstanding legislator a debt of gratitude for summarizing EXACTLY what’s at stake in November. It should be bookmarked and shared over and over again.

Whether you’re undecided, a progressive, a centrist or even a right leaning Democrat, every single word should resonate. In November democracy IS on the ballot and it sets the tone for political engagement over the next four years.

No American that supports freedom and American values should be saying ‘I’m not going to vote for Joe Biden because of Gaza’. To be clear, my opposition to US policy on support for Israel is well documented. However, this is NOT about the lesser of two evils as the media so often presents it, it’s about the resulting representative democratic process that emerges on Nov 6.

Joe Biden may be at the top of the ticket, but US democracy is much bigger than any single politician. It’s about the collective will of state legislative bodies, as well as 435 elected federal legislators. The outcome of this electoral jigsaw, represents not only the conditions in which we will live, but the freedoms we will enjoy for the next four years. Whether they are conditions under which our voices will be heard or silenced. So my question to each and every one of you is this. What do you want?

For all the criticism of Biden and his handling of the Gaza tragedy, take a moment to think how Trump would have handled it. Now many will be saying, ‘That is no justification’ and I get it. However, Trump would have given the green light to empty Gaza in return for a Trump hotel on the Gaza sea front. If you think you would have been allowed to protest, think again. The National Guard would have been deployed to crush dissent and throw you in jail.

I am not going to sit here and attempt to defend the indefensible when it comes to US Israel policy. But what I am going to do is, point out that the voices of millions of Americans were heard by the Administration, as reflected in the harder position taken by Joe Biden.

If you are in any doubt as to the conditions you will be subjected to under a Trump administration, I would simply say read what the Heritage Foundation is calling ‘The 2025 Presidential Transition Project’ otherwise known as Project 2025.

The Christian Nationalist right has a plan already in motion to place thousands of Trump loyalists in EVERY key government department to shift total control of key government functions to the White House. Congress and the Senate will merely be ceremonial rubber stamping bodies for an autocratic leadership, putting GOD at the center of government as a lever to embrace authoritarian rule.

In their words ‘This is the goal of the 2025 Presidential Transition Project. The project will build on four pillars that will, collectively, pave the way for an effective conservative administration: a policy agenda, personnel, training, and a 180-day playbook’

Plans are already in place to call for a Constitutional Convention to amend the constitution in line with their aims. You can rest assured that if Trump is elected, the abolition of the 22nd Amendment is top of the agenda.

So think very carefully about your moral outrage because from November 6, you will have no right to express it under a Trump thiefdom.
