@courtneyellis My husband is a youth minister and although I love ministering to people, it was never my calling in that role. I’m a massage therapist and found my ministry fulfillment in that role stronger than I ever imagined it would be 💜
I’m going to prioritize love.
Above doctrine and dogma.
Above theology and ideology.
I’m going to prioritize love.
Because Jesus didn’t say his followers would be known by their beliefs.
He said we would be known by our love.

@JennaEllisEsq@denise_snively@GraceComChurch@johnmacarthur@reachjulieroys Jenna… your experience isn’t everyone’s and neither is Julie’s… however she has every right to speak about the abuse. Jesus did, & he upset the Pharisees & religious people of the day… I’m glad you didn’t have to face the abuse, but it doesn’t change the fact that others did.
@PastorJetTyson@RaeMieA@DefendTheSheep You say she cannot remarry but what about the husband? Can he remarry if she is alive and they are divorced? Let’s also talk about the restrictions on him, not just the wife
@PastorJetTyson@DefendTheSheep But not while forcing a wife (and her kids) to live with an abusive man! He needs to move out and get his heart right and he needs to prove his repentance by his deeds to earn her trust back IF she wants to reconcile. Abuse breaks the moral contract of marriage. Period.
@drmarkwill@DefendTheSheep Please look up John Pipers interview on this subject
Also as the wife of a pastor I’ve heard horror stories from my congregation that this has indeed happened.
@FrederickRossi1 Not that simple. Take a look at the climate that black ppl face at the hands of the police. It’s hard to understand if you aren’t black and to claim you do is ignorance. I’m not black and although I lived with BIPOC roommates I can’t relate, all I can do is bring awareness.
