Cookies n Cream from Trichome illusion gardens. Subtle nutty flavor from the cookies with a creamy finish on the palette. Beautiful melt.

[Meltaholic @Meltaholic]

@ProperlySmoked Yes top notch I’m pretty sure they do it in fresh press I would like to try that next

[Meltaholic @Meltaholic]

@xengardens97 Any reason why some strains cure faster than others? For example I find zkittlez fresh press to cure insanely fast compared to something like motorheads which is way more stable. And why not drop in fresh press if curing faster? Most get sent on ice no?

@sinsemillaville @erlterpeneur @jptoroglass @TheDabRite See if you can get it on ice or stock up in winter. I think it’s way more enjoyable than cold cure if it is intact. I don’t know if I ever really enjoyed a jar that cured in transportation.

@BensGlassArt @sleepy_smokes Key is a good cap and than can really whip the hash around well

Appearance 👀: The rosin had an interesting appearance upon opening, with a pale ivory champagne color with a shiny almost crystalized look to it. Most of the rosin had shifted to one side of the jar, and its consistency had changed to more of a cold cure compared to the gooey, stringy fresh-press consistency it originally had when dropped off. This change was likely caused during transport. However, after giving it a thorough whip the rosin took on a cold cure consistency that was neither completely dry nor overly wet, landing somewhere in the middle with a sugary, sliceable texture that didn't stick to the dab tool easily like a wet cold cure would. Its color also changed from opening to a pale, creamy, butter like yellow appearance compared to the ivory champagne color it had upon opening. The rosin also had a very clean appearance, both to the naked eye and under a macro lens, with no visible contaminants. The drier consistency after whipping may also have been influenced by the jars used, as I consistently find that they can cause hash to dry out over time compared to authentic miron jars that usually store hash way better.

The jar design was simple, with a clear, flat container and a gold metal lid, rather than an authentic black miron jar with the 'm' stamped on the bottom, which I personally would have preferred since they tend to preserve hash better over time. The jar had two stickers, one on top and one on the bottom. The top sticker featured an image of professional hockey player Jack Hughes celebrating Team USA's gold medal win at the 2026 Winter Olympics. It also had the brand's logo in gold and black, reading 'Hat Trick Hash by Erlterpenuer' in a cool looking design. The bottom sticker was white and included details on the hash such as the weight '2 Grams', the strain name 'Mad Honey 2', the genetics 'Honey Bananas x Sherbanger', the micron range '159-73u’, the wash '1st - 4th,' and lastly stating 'Organic Inputs Only’. 8.9/10

Aroma 👃: The aroma on the jar is nice and loud. When you crack open the jar, you’re met with a sharp, earthy gas smell that comes off decently pungent but not overly strong. Which is followed by some sweet, nutty banana notes along with a light creaminess that rounds everything out. The gas is definitely the first thing that catches your attention, but the sweeter banana and nutty notes come through nicely as you take in the aroma more. 9.4/10

Taste 👅: The taste translated very well from the aroma. I get a strong nutty sweet banana taste with a light creaminess to it, followed by a sharp earthy gas taste that pairs together great. After dabbing you’re left with a nice combination of the two, but mainly that sharp earthy gas stays on the palate. It’s like you took a banana and covered it in peanut butter, then dipped it in a drop of fuel. I enjoyed the profile on this one as it was flavorful and complex. You can really taste both the genetics the sherbanger and the honey banana which is nice one doesn't really over power the other they pair nice you get that gas from the sherbanger and then the sweet nutty banana from the honey banana. 9.3/10

Burn/Smoothness 🧼: The rosin dabbed clean on the nail leaving behind a golden translucent color, and not a dark or murky color which would indicate there's quite a bit of contaminants. It also dabbed smooth and clean with no background noise even. When testing out higher temps it did burn slightly darker but nothing worth complaining about and it remained smooth which I always appreciate when dabbing. 9.2/10

Effects 😄: The effects on this one were very enjoyable and potent. It hit with a strong head high almost immediately, followed by a relaxing body high that had me settling in and just chilling. I had recently returned from a t break, so that may have played a role in the intensity of the effects. This was the perfect one to dab before settling in for some netflix, providing a relaxing and enjoyable experience that made it easy to kick back and unwind. 9.3/10

Overall 📝: This was a great jar from @erlterpeneur and my first time trying anything rosin from him, and I can definitely see why so many love this Mad Honey 2 and keep it in their headstash. The main reason I decided to grab this one is because I had tried the flower last year and enjoyed it, so I wanted to see how the rosin compared, and it didn’t disappoint. Another reason I wanted to try this jar is that I have seen multiple people mention it as one of their favorites this year, with some people even saying it’s their jar of the year. Whenever that’s the case I always wanna try it.

@erlterpeneur is a small batch grower and hashmaker originally from Chicago who is now based in Fresno. He does everything single source from seed to jar and I have not seen him collaborate with anyone to this date. He has a strong passion for hockey with his favorite team being the Chicago Blackhawks hence his brand having a lot of hockey themed art. He has been growing for about 20 years but didn't start the brand until 2015 where he was growing and making bho before converting to rosin in 2020 and has been killing it since.

This jar pretty much checked all the boxes for me. The aroma, taste, burn and smoothness, and effects were all excellent. The only area where it fell a little short was the appearance, although it wasn’t bad by any means. As mentioned, the rosin had a dry, sugary yet slightly wet texture that required more slicing than scooping, which isn’t my personal preference. However this jar was transported so it didn't have that fresh consistency that it would've started with which is a huge factor. It was still workable and retained its moisture, but it wasn’t quite as appealing as a wetter, more scoopable cold cure consistency. I’ve noticed this tends to be the case with many jars of this style. In my opinion, an authentic miron jar would do a better job of preserving the rosins consistency and overall quality over time.

@erlterpeneur definitely did his thing with this one, no doubt about that. This was my first jar of rosin from the brand, and it certainly won’t be my last. Yes, the jars are priced well above the market average, but the quality was there, and when that’s the case, I’m never mad about paying a premium because quality comes at a price. I also really enjoyed seeing the contrast between this Mad Honey 2 rosin and the Mad Honey 2 flower I had last year. Both shared those sweet, nutty cream notes that I enjoyed, but the rosin was noticeably more flavorful overall, as you’d expect. I also picked up on more of those sharp, earthy gas notes in the rosin that weren’t as prominent in the flower, which added another nice layer to the profile. I’d definitely grab this jar again, as it checked pretty much all the boxes for me apart from the appearance which was out of control as transport played a huge influence in it. That said, i’d probably opt for the cold cure over the fresh press next time, simply because fresh press can be tricky to transport without affecting its consistency. Shoutout to Erlterpeneur! I can definitely see why so many people enjoy his work. 9.2/10
