This is an Ethereum prodigy.

Mooncats is the first ever on-chain generative ART project (2017).

Its also blockchain science with ponderware pushing the boudaries of what can be knitted on Ethereum by crafting a genius custom contract with proof of work minting mechanics. Minting was free so its still in redistribution phase (almost over).

Then you have a passionate and savvy community developping and curating the art.
