.@ohlthaverlist Donates N$500,000 to Boost Cancer Screening at Windhoek Central Hospital
The Ohlthaver & List Group (O&L) has pledged N$500,000 to the Oncology Department at Windhoek Central Hospital to strengthen cancer screening, patient support services, and awareness efforts, ahead of World Cancer Day (4 February 2026).
The donation was handed over by O&L Chief Financial Officer Theresa Weitz to the Minister of Health and Social Services Dr. Esperance Luvindao during a ceremony held in Windhoek.
Weitz said the support reflects O&L’s commitment to partnerships that deliver measurable impact, noting that cancer affects not only patients, but families and communities alike.
Luvindao welcomed the contribution, calling on more private sector players to support the national fight against cancer, warning that late diagnosis continues to cost lives.
Around 4,000 Namibians are diagnosed with cancer annually, with cases rising by 12% each year. Prostate cancer leads among men, while breast and cervical cancers remain main threats to women.
