If you are ok with the bail system, what you’re really saying is it’s ok for wealthy people to commit crimes, but make sure the poor people are sent directly to jail.

@GStoiner @WGNNews If you think a teenager committing suicide after being assaulted multiple times in a jail he spent years in while awaiting trial for possibly stealing a backpack is ok, you’re one sick fuck. His bail was $3,000, for a backpack.

@Schlicky921 @WGNNews Well, I hope no one ever accuses you of something you didn’t actually do and you get sent to jail. Although, if you’re in Illinois, if it isn’t a violent crime, you will likely be released. That kid was sent to Rikers for “suspicion” of stealing a backpack.
