We're lucky at MWT to be inspired by amazing male role models almost constantly. So to everyone who shows up each week, both for themselves and for each other: thank you! And to all those reading this post anxious about taking the first step, we say to you: you're very welcome.
A reminder to all, speculation on the cause of death, or the troubles facing a person shortly before the end of their life go only to traumatise those left behind. Every loss of young life is tragic. Intimate details of emergency phone calls & pictures should never be broadcast.
Itโs important to remember the media guidelines set out by organisations such as @samaritans and @MindCharity . Grieving families & the deceased deserve respect & privacy, regardless of celebrity status. For anyone facing a challenge, please always know that help is there.
Thanks to the generosity of the fund, and all those who play the lottery, the future of MWT isn't only now more secure, but also exceptionally brighter. Our mission to help every man in the UK with their mental health and wellbeing is a bold and ambitious one.

Thanks to the support of TNL, this ambition is closer to being realised. I can't thank our incredible community of supporters, volunteers, grant makers, service users and MWT enthusiasts enough, it's thanks to you that we have secured this huge vote of confidence and support."
On the announcement, Founder & Director Sam says:
"To receive the support of the prestigious National Lottery Community Fund once is a dream come true, to receive it twice is beyond dreams.

This is hugely positive news. The last parliament started murmurs around addressing the crisis facing men & boysโ mental health, we greatly look forward to working with the new parliament & @APPGMenBoys to turn those murmurs into meaningful policy change!
Positive announcement: An initial mailing to MPs has resulted in 11 new MP members for this APPG.
It seems that more MPs are aware of, and concerned about, men&boys issues than 3 years ago.
(To re-form the APPG we need to find two of them to be chair and vice chair.)
It is deeply distressing to see the current political attacks on those suffering with their mental health, especially the trivialising of depression and anxiety. The reality is, many people are desperately trying to seek treatment for their mental health problems but are stuck.
People don't choose to be on disability benefits. It's their last resort.
Stop blaming people with mental health problems. If the Secretary of State wants a grown-up conversation about this, then he should meet with us.
We've sent an invite. 1/3
We call on the government to urgently reassess these plans, and actually listen to all those working in this space and individuals genuinely struggling, as to how they can create meaningful changes.
