Sean Marks is taking Nate Ament. Marks is who he is, he's not changing in year 10 on the job.
If the Nets take Acuff that's a clear sign to me that Sean Marks won't be the GM much longer. It won't happen.
Nate Ament is such a Sean Marks pick.
Feel better about him if the Nets trade down to like 8-10 and pick him. Picking him over Mikel Brown and Acuff would be a tough pill to swallow though
A realistic framework for what the Grizzlies could receive in a trade for Ja Morant:
Nets receive: Morant
Memphis receives: Nolan Traoré, Terance Mann, Noah Clowney, Day’Ron Sharpe, Ziaire Williams
A pure salary dump for Memphis, while Brooklyn has incentive to win in 2027.
@MarcelloMi6345 i think realistically the nets have enough to get anywhere in the top 4 if they get stupid. may be irresponsible how much they’d have to send to get to 1.
most realistic would yeah be 3 or 4.
Chicago trading 4 + Patrick Williams contract for 6 and 1-2 extra good firsts maybe
My clear head Nets draft thoughts now that the lottery is past us:
- Today I lean more towards they don't pick at 6. Either they trade up or trade the pick for an established guy
- If they pick at 6, it's Acuff or bust for me
- Wagler is a terrible fit with Egor, I'd hate it
@veenomous maybe. but the roster has gotten worse every year for 3-4 years and none of the big gambles they’ve taken have paid off yet. meanwhile the Knicks are in the ECF again and heavy favorites to make the finals.
it shouldn’t matter but there’s no way it doesn’t to Tsai.
@loshernandez29 Morant or Zion are my first two thoughts. Both brutal options.
Giannis is the home run swing they'll 100% be in the mix for but I think Bucks trade him elsewhere.
Donovan Mitchell is the sleeper, maybe most likely. If he's out of Cleveland, I think it's the Nets
The Nets are not going to go into next season with only the 6th pick AND no star(s) to market and put butts in seats. While the Knicks are likely going to be coming off a trip to the Finals.
I'd bet heavily on the Nets going for a shortsighted star player trade.
Genuinely impressive to have such a lack of self awareness to say this publicly lmao.
The Nets believe in guys alright. Just (rightfully) not Cam Thomas
@brooklynnets85@BillyReinhardt my lukewarm take is i really don’t hate it because i think they have a team good enough as is to win the world series. i know they got punked by toronto but not sure they’re that far behind them
some deadline bullpen adds and i think they’ll be in solid position to make a run.
