@JoeConchaTV Oh my goodness. Finally, some decency. No, I'm not a Cory Booker fan, but he certainly has my appreciation and respect for this kindness. The internet has been rough today.
@mattvanswol It is more common than you think. We have close family relatives on both sides of the family passed suddenly, cardiac event, ages 52, 53, & 73. When it happens, it is shocking. I'm in my 60s, I keep in mind each day "memento mori" .
Did you know that Lindsey Graham was only 21 years old when he lost both of his parents?
After his mother died of cancer and his father passed away from a heart attack about 15 months later, Lindsey was suddenly left to care for his 13-year-old sister, Darline, while he was still a college student.
He later legally adopted her so she could receive military benefits while he served in the Air Force.
Whatever your politics, that’s an extraordinary responsibility for someone so young to carry. Please say a prayer for his sister, Darline, as she mourns the loss of the brother who she described as, “kind of like a brother, a father and a mother rolled into one.”
@ScottJenningsKY I believe you. Because I trust you @ScottJenningsKY. Let @bennyjohnson know because he is convinced Senator McConnell is brain dead. And that is what he has been heralding for quite a while now.
Dear Catholics, now that the Vatican has formally declared the SSPX's illicit episcopal consecrations to be a schismatic act and confirmed the excommunications, there's something very important you should know.
Unexpectedly -at least to me- the decree didn't stop with the bishops. Against what I had been expecting, the Vatican also addressed certain lay faithful.
Did you know that lay faithful were also included?
Hold on...
The Vatican states that those who formally adhere to the SSPX are to be considered schismatics and excommunicated. If you identify with the SSPX, reject submission to the Pope, and align yourself with the SSPX as a movement in opposition to the authority of the Catholic Church, you are much more likely to fall into the category the Vatican is referring to.
Now, to the SSPX apologists: I don't know whether each of you fits that category. That's something only your actual beliefs and actions can determine. But if your loyalty to the SSPX has led you to reject the authority of the Pope and formally adhere to the movement in schism, you should take this decree very seriously. You're not playing with a minor disagreement, you're risking separation from full communion with the Church.
One of the most incredible storm damage pictures I’ve ever seen happened this morning in South Dakota. A 131 mph wind gust in the city of Highmore split the roof of the Catholic Church perfectly illuminating the crucifix. This is not AI, it’s been confirmed real by locals. Truly amazing.
