Decentralization is an easy word to throw around, but I can’t agree with calling BTC more decentralized.
The idea that full nodes are part of the consensus is dishonest and if that were even the case (it is not) it is nothing but a sybil attack on Bitcoin. Something Satoshi warned against, 1 ip 1 vote. At best it opens up for collusion between developers, exchanges and whoever else that is financially incentivized to force miners to accept changes like Segwit.
Full nodes acting after the fact, developers colluding with exchanges. Less than 1% of userbase running full nodes doesn’t quantify as more decentralized than what I call Bitcoin. A protocol that is set in stone. After all, no protocol changes, means no backdoor politics, means a stable foundation to build a business on, so on so forth. Now we can argue if BSV is set in stone but at least Craig has been the only guy around that called for this which ties in with what Satoshi stated. “The nature of the locked-in rules. Core design set in stone, for it’s lifetime” (not until a softfork).
A digital asset that changes on the whims of a developer through softforks/ uasf is ‘t decentralized it is controlled by developers and those paying them.
BTC has two nodes? with more than 51% that extend the blockchain. The rest is spectating whilst thinking they matter.
BTC is not set in stone it could theorethically form into anything it wants to, as long as softfork “consensus”. So yes I agree theorethically BTC can achieve this but it’s pointless to mention since BTC is centrally planned by people who decided that full nodes (read aligning their own pockets with side channels) matter 😂.
What is dishonest is to claim that BTC is still Bitcoin under the guise of “the people have chosen” it is what it is now.
When in reality it was Blockstream that came up with segwit and very few people actually had a say in this. Let alone the fact that we know Satoshi stated I don’t want my software forked, and the set in stone it.
That’s the dishonest part and it’s also called fraud. A massive passing off fraud, since BTC doesn’t align anymore with what Bitcoin was about.
Anyway u are incentivized to stick with BTC and I don’t blame anyone for not believing in Craig, I think that’s the entire point, believe in the tech not the indvidual.
So let’s see what terranode is capable of, how it works. You may be surprised.
What I would like to understand is how you can buy into the BTC is decentralized nonsense? I don’t see it with the best will in the world.
