My Calc BC students surprised me this morning. I use Russian dolls as an analogy when teaching the Calc topic chain rule, and they each painted one of the dolls to represent our class π Words canβt express how amazing teaching this group has been. Oh how I am going to miss them!
These two are just a ton of fun. I have absolutely loved getting to teach them and get to know them along the way. Thank you, Brett and Grayson for picking me for teacher appreciation night! π€π
After the mock exam, we had some senior fun with a boys vs. girls amazing race style scavenger hunt! This is my first senior class and words canβt express how special they are to me! ππ€
Tonight was a special night for Capital City Soccer. π It was our first ever Teacher Appreciation Night! Our Senior soccer players were each asked to nominate a teacher that was most influential in their academic career. #weareblesssedwiththebest

First tweet of the school year. This year has been hard. Prepping for an AP class for the first year is a LOT of work. Many nights were spent working late. But this, this might have made it worth it. Having these students for two years in a row is so special. Wow. Just wow. ππ₯°
"She has helped me out in Trig this year. She has always stayed after school to help me if I don't understand something. She has made her class fun and enjoyable"
Thank you Mrs. Menges for all you do for student athletes!

With the short day today, I decided to do an intro Desmos discovery activity exploring connections between circles and ellipses, and my teacher β€οΈ is happy! So many βOooh!β and βthat makes senseβ moments from students and I am LOVING it! ππ»ππ»
Create your own triangle congruence! Students created 6 examples, 5 using a triangle congruence theorem/postulate and 1 not congruent example. They then rotated to see other groups examples and figure out which triangles could be congruent and why! Great conversations!
