In a landmark ruling, Justice Dr. Chillakur Sumalatha set aside ₹20,000 interim maintenance order.
Wife earning ₹1 Lakh+ per month (TDS showed even higher), husband just ₹60k. No kids to support, no liabilities proven. Court said:

If an able-bodied, educated and earning spouse can maintain herself, lifelong maintenance defeats the very principle of equality.

Not entitlement without responsibility.
Instead of encouraging dependency, let's promote:
• Employment
• Skill development
• Financial independence
• Equal responsibility

India already has multiple government schemes that support women's education, entrepreneurship and self-employment. Empowerment should mean opportunity to stand on one's own feet.

Equality means rights with responsibilities.
