Anxiety symptoms can be intense.
When our brain picks up on our fear and panic, it sends signals to the body which activates the stress response (fight or flight)
Even if there is no real danger, your brain is not going to take any chances.
#Healing from #trauma is a journey. It’s unlearning + relearning new ways of existing.
It’s a lifelong process of discovery that leads to true, deep transformation. It requires your daily participation.

A #boundary is a line we draw in a relationship. It is a limit. We set them to protect ourselves.
An expectation is a personal belief about occurrences that may take place in the future. We set #expectations to eliminate or reduce confusion that might take place in the future.
Our early attachment patterns with parents create the blueprint for our relationships throughout our lifespan.
No caretaker is perfect and research shows that we just need “good enough” #parenting. A safe, stable environment with structure, where we are shown care and affection.
Struggling to breathe when anxiety is high is truly one of the scariest sensations.
When we are anxious, we don’t breathe deeply from our bellies, and this shallow breathing can cause you to feel like you are gasping for air.
You cannot compare your trauma to anyone else’s. All #trauma is valid.

This condition is marked by a person’s imagination of physical symptoms of illness.

BUILDING TRUST WITH YOUR KIDS:
It is a basic human right to have control over what happens to our own bodies.
You can't respect other people's boundaries if yours have not been respected. You can't set boundaries if you haven't seen them modeled.
What else do you wish we learned in school?
The point of this post is that I wish we also learned more about the bottom items within the public K-12 education system.
Everyone is in charge of their own life.
It's okay to lean on others and help each other achieve happiness, but we can't depend on other people to make us happy, and we can't be solely responsible for their #happiness either.
Make yourself a priority. #Selfcare is important
