@kumabite I agree! I've had past relationships tell me if I left them they'd probably end themselves and it makes me feel horrible 😔 I don't want that to happen, but I also don't want to keep being in a relationship that makes me feel like shit all the time.
This is my opinion and im sorry if you disagree.
I think cheating on your partner is vile and disgusting. Continuing to ask for sex is also gross especially when they have health issues or are asexual.
However IF its true, threatening to kill yourself if your partner left you is also not okay. It’s a form of manipulation (even if you mean it to be or not) thats been seen time and time again to get someone to stay.
Regardless, my heart goes out to those affected and i hope they can heal and move forward. 🩷

I'll try to be as unbiased as possible because I actually respect Blossum.
1. The moment Darren disclosed they were 16, all communication should have ended. Regardless of intentions, continuing a private working relationship with a minor creates an unavoidable power imbalance. If Darren had already been displaying unprofessional behavior from the beginning, that was even more reason to step away.
2. Darren was clearly very emotionally invested in the project—which is understandable considering they're 16. You can see it in their excitement, disappointment, and frustration. A good mentor acknowledges both strengths and weaknesses. Darren's strength was their passion; their weakness was emotional maturity and professionalism. Those are areas that should have been addressed constructively.
3. Unprofessional behavior is never an excuse for blackmail or coercion. Bringing up the follower count difference came across as leveraging influence to pressure someone. I understand Blossum's frustration, but the appropriate response should have simply been: "I'm sorry, but I can no longer work with you." As the mentor in the situation, that should have been where the conversation ended.
4. I also want to make it clear that this isn't simply about Darren being 16. It's about the fact that Darren reached out to Blossum to promote a project and entered into what was effectively a business relationship. The moment money, promotion, or commissioned work is involved, it becomes a professional transaction. Passion is great, but professionalism has to come with it. If you're seeking opportunities in a professional space, you also have a responsibility to learn how to communicate professionally, handle criticism, manage expectations, and respect boundaries.
5. At the same time, that responsibility doesn’t fall solely on Darren. If Blossum chose to engage with a minor in a professional capacity, then she also had a responsibility to maintain structure and boundaries that account for that difference. A mentor role isn’t passive—it requires actively navigating those gaps in maturity and communication. If she continued the relationship despite knowing his age, then the burden to keep things professional and appropriately handled ultimately sits with her.
6. I don't think this situation needs a hero or a villain. Darren's age provides context, but it doesn't excuse unprofessional behavior. Blossum's frustration provides context, but it doesn't justify resorting to pressure or leveraging influence. Both people made mistakes, and I think the biggest lesson here is that clear boundaries and professionalism from both sides would have prevented this from getting to this point.
Hopefully Darren and Blossum can each take this as a learning experience and grow from it. I am wishing them the best moving forward.
