Israeli international Dor Turgeman, who plays for the U.S.'s Major League Soccer's New England Revolution, was met with chants of "Death to Israel" and "Free Palestine" from some CF Montreal supporters during an away match in Montreal, Canada.

Turgeman responded by scoring, then celebrated directly in front of the section of Montreal fans who had targeted him with his arms outstretched.

According to witnesses, beer bottles were thrown at the Israeli striker from the stands.

The celebration then sparked a confrontation on the pitch when CF Montreal goalkeeper Sebastian Breza, who plays for the Canadian club, shoved Turgeman, triggering a brief clash involving several players.

Brazilian influencer Bianca Barreto has been sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay R$20,000 (about $3,800) in damages after being convicted of criminal misgendering and calling a transgender woman a "man."

The conviction stems from a 2024 social media video in which Barreto referred to Congressman Duda Salabert, a transgender politician from the left-wing Socialism and Liberty Party (PSOL), using male pronouns and said, "A man is a man, a woman is a woman."

The judge ruled that deliberately referring to Salabert by biological sex constituted "social racism."
