Final #highway58 update: it took us 6 hours to get from Bakersfield to where 14 meets it near Mojave. 10:30am-4:00pm. Main problem is “Sand Canyon Rd” near the windmills where it’s 1-lane both directions. #58west is backed up 9 miles or there and #58east is similar if not worse.

@MrRain01 Definitely still stuck. There’s 2 bridges in Tehachapi that have only 1 lane each. So traffic is very slow/stopped all the way until highway 14 comes in from Mojave. We’re between the 2 bridges right now and we left Bakersfield at 10:30am!

Highway 58 update, we are going east over the pass from Bakersfield, we left at 10:30am and are just passing Heart Flat (West of Keene). We are in standstill traffic, although Westbound traffic seems fast and light! Not sure what’s going on east of us at Tehachapi pass.

There’s another lane closure at the next bridge before town ends I think, it’s been 5 hours now since Bakersfield.

Highway 58 eastbound is slow/stopped because of a left lane closure right before Tehachapi Blvd. Took us 4 ½ hours to get here from Bakersfield. #highway58 #CA58

@itswhattttever Bring food, drinks, gas, and blankets if you can, it could be 4-5 hours though 58 to Mojave!

Highway 58 - The traffic is moving better and better up here by Tucker Rd although we’re still not sure what the holdup is. Our phones say lane closed ahead(?) #tehachapi #highway58
