@NotImportantUs1 @gillythekidYT All companies, including nintendo, are allowed to look at that expired patent, follow the instructions in it and create a dpad and then use it in a commercial product. The patent doesn't need to be "renewed", that's not even possible after it's expired

The point of patents is to 1) reward innovation with an exclusivity period (up to 20 years) and 2) create a database of innovations (the patent register) which are free for anyone to utilize once the patent has expired

@smashbrolink @Stealth40k i love the pvp aspect of the souls games, but the combat in this looks like a big downgrade to me. too many ranged and movement abilities just cause passive gameplay where players pick each other off from a distance, which is the antithesis of souls pvp imo
