Trump has promised a $5,000 “dividend” if Republicans retain Congress. Many assume tariffs will pay for it. But the math doesn’t work: the proposal could cost $1.2+ TRILLION. Tariff revenues is no where enough. If the rest is borrowed, Congress must approve it.
