At Palacio & Asociados, we receive daily alerts from Customs regarding suspicious merchandise. Recently, our team carried out a new verification triggered by an alert about an unauthorized importer.

According to a report by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (OECD and EUIPO), counterfeit and pirated goods amount to as much as 3% of world trade.

This new measure seeks to promote healthier food by means of an informative and visible labelling which signals products high in sugar, sodium, saturated fat, total fat and calories.

According to a study by the OECD and the EUIPO, the trade in counterfeit and pirated products amounts to more than 500 BILLION dollars annually. This represents more than 3% of world trade.
