Your Mercer County Sheriff's Search and Rescue #SAR team is on the grounds for this year's @mercofairIL once again. We're keeping an eye on fairgoers and assisting, if needed. We have a self-serve first-aid station located in our trailer on the midway across from Floral Hall.

We're in the field this morning conducting our annual summer search training for members. A total of 15 members are participating in the exercise in Greene Township north of #ViolaIL. This is far from one of the hottest summer days we've ever been in the field! What a great day!

What's the value of #volunteer time? Immeasurable, but the Independent Sector each year collects data from across the USA for each state. In #Illinois in 2025, volunteer time was worth $35.73 an hour. More than 1,000 hours by team members each year = $40K+.

Our team members are on the grounds of the Aledo Rhubarb Festival in Central Park once again today assisting with festival-goers and emergency services. If you find a lost item -- or you lose an item -- our tent near the shelter is lost-and-found HQ. #AledoIL
