This afternoon, we’re delighted to be back at BFI Southbank for Screen Play 2026! Screen Play is @LondonGamesFest ’s annual conference exploring the crossover between games, film, and television.
Ubisoft published just 4 games in 2025 whereas back in 2000, it published more than 60. The attitude shift is that games need to be 'bigger'. No wonder AAA is flailing. Bring back the days when you'd punt tons of weird, experimental, new games & IP's out, and see what sticks!

The first Zelda I really got into was Links Awakening on the Game Boy. Then I went astray and didn’t play much until Wind Waker, which I adored. (The open world was awesome) So seeing Ocarina Of Time is a good opportunity for me to visit a classic again.
New RPG Maker announced focusing on 2.5 HD. Looks interesting. Could be built on the Godot engine maybe? Too early to tell whether it’s any good. I quite like the art style though I’d replace the default assets of course. Of course, engine only as good as your game design
