@Liszcz3@moderate_mad@ronsterd89 Actually, less strain if you set your thermostat on an incremental timer that drops the temp about one degree per hour until you reach your desired temperature.
@mark_slapinski@FrazandLoki It does, because you’re using hyperbole for clicks. Do a better job of researching and vetting your information and people will start to take you seriously.
If you’re frustrated with this country, you’re not alone. But the answer isn’t war. The answer is hard, boring, thankless civic work. Voting. Debating. Reforming. Showing up. That’s what real patriots do.
A Second Civil War? Let’s be clear about what that actually means. It’s not a movie plot. It’s not a meme. It’s real Americans dying on American soil, neighbors turning into enemies. Our cities burning. Our children burying parents and vice versa. No winners. Just loss.
The first Civil War killed 620,000+ Americans. Adjusted for today’s population? That’s over 7 million DEAD!
And for what? For power that would only end up in the hands of those most willing to destroy the country.
Don’t let politicians, influencers, or algorithms profit from your hatred. The real battle is against those who convince us that our fellow Americans are the enemy. Disagree fiercely, but DO NOT dehumanize. That’s how civil wars begin.
A civil war would not bring unity. It would bring occupational zones, warlords, foreign intervention, and a ruined economy. Your side might “win,” but what kind of country would be left to inherit? A failed state is no victory.
America’s strength isn’t in her uniformity. It’s in her messy, loud, chaotic freedom. Yes, it’s imperfect. But so is every nation. What sets us apart is that we argue like hell…but, we don’t shoot our way out of disagreement.
For conservatives: You love the Constitution. A war would destroy the institutions built to protect it. For liberals: You champion human rights. A war would trample civil liberties in the name of “order.” Both sides would lose everything they claim to stand for.
