Two official letters sent to the family by Anglo-Eastern Ship Management have raised serious questions. These letters show clear contradictions regarding dates, time, and sequence of events, which should not be acceptable in any professional ship management or safety system. In the letter dated 03 February 2026, it is stated that Sarthak was last seen at 06:15 hours in the morning and that the search operation was initiated the same day. However, in the letter dated 05 February 2026, it is written that on 03 February #alarming news was received that the cadet was not found on board.
#Question:
If the cadet was already missing since the morning, why was such language used two days later?
The second letter mentions CCTV footage and a mobile phone, while this crucial information is not mentioned in the first letter.
#Question:
Why was such important information not shared in the initial letter?
The 05 February letter mentions mental stress (information about his mother being injured), which is not mentioned in the 03 February letter.
#Question:
If this information was already known, why was it not mentioned in the first letter?
The duration of the search operation (more than 55 hours) also does not align with the dates.
#Question:
When did the search operation actually begin?
The letter states that Sarthak had gone to deliver breakfast from the mess room.
However, seafarers who have worked on board ships know that generally breakfast is delivered to a cabin only when a crew member is sick or unfit for duty.
#Questions:
If #SarthakMohapatra was not sick, why was breakfast delivered to the cabin?
Who was on duty with the Chief Officer during that shift?
What does the duty roster indicate?
Most of you here have worked or are currently working on board ships.
You know the system from the inside.
Please share your experience and suggestions in the comments.
This post is not against any company, but in favor of truth, transparency, and accountability.
Until clear and documented answers to these questions are provided,
the Sarthak Mohapatra case is not merely an #Accident it is a test of the systemβs accountability.
