My favorite read was both Kindred because it was completely different from the books I have ever read and it was just amazing. Next is I was their American dream because it creative and I felt like I was able to connect with the author. Love both authors. #HongLit
I finished ‘I was their American Dream’ and I absolutely love the art of it and I love the ending. I love her being able to learn more culture from her husband and also treating him about her culture. Just Beautiful. #HongLit
@sunshineeyed1 Yeah! Reading about her being torn between her culture and religion since many people don’t write about that and many people do stuggle with their identity and religion
The one place I would love to go is Tokyo to see the cherry blossom. I’ve always seen it in anime and I just really want to see them in person. #HongLit
Reading ‘I was their American dream’ I really loved the art, it was really beautiful. I felt like I could relate with the author som much especially the expectations you family has for you. #HongLit
This caught my attention because he’s claiming once someone dies their work and voice will stop being heard but I can’t help but disagree because after Octavia Butler death many people have been recognizing her work. #HongLit
I was really confused when reading “Henosis” I don’t if the chapters were supposed to be out randomly but when I did try to read it in order I still couldn’t understand it but something that caught by attention was the this quote “They always stop listening, eventually, #HongLit
I finished Vietgone and I love how Quang puts his own perspective on the war, how many people in American see it as a mistake but to him and Vietnamese people didn’t seem like that. Showing us how we don’t always see the two perspectives in happening. #HongLit
@bui10470760 I agree with you. I feel like it’s the stereotypes many people have of each other because my family in Ecuador believe just because I live in America. I’m rich and live in a mansion and think I look more like an American even though I’m tan.
Reading Vietgone I was really surprised how bold the characters are especially Tong. I felt bad when she was having nightmares of her brother and dead fiancé it seems as though she carries a lot guilt. #HongLit
