@rgarcia1521@Hatakerfd6@JoshuaVanBT I just used plain bible verses. The ones both Catholic and Protestants adhere to. You'd be surprised that Catholics talk like this too.
@ant_trujillo@JoshuaVanBT your confusing telling, with both Joshua and I commitment to our Lord Jesus Christ commandment exhort and encourage one another.
@FormulaFocus99 I know, encouraging a fellow brother in Christ can be jarring to those on the outside.
But take heart. I know us fight fans do the same to each other online.
Same kind of different me.
The gospel has many implications. Preaching the good news that Christ died for sinners is a main headline. But the brotherly network of christian love toward brothers are also a down stream effect of the gospel we cherish. That includes a good word both in encouragement and boldness.
@ant_trujillo@JoshuaVanBT Definitely, I have been a hypocrite. And there are good godly brothers who check me. I'm good with it. Christians need that in their lives.
He does have to have an edge. I said that.
I also watch him fight. like @smilensam and others. I'm also for Christians who join the military. You're right we don't need to be soft. Like Christ who is are example. As Christians we are also examples in other areas. That's who Joshua follows. Not you or I.
@fatMollycaylgr@JoshuaVanBT I think you meant exhorting or even encouraging.
Hebrews 3:13: "But exhort one another daily, as long as it is called 'Today,' so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness."
Just one Christian brother talking to another. That's all. It actually happens a lot. Brothers talk to me that way. It's all love and it's meant to be that way. Even here on X.
Van is fantastic and I believe he is creative enough to say exactly what he said with out some of the words he used.
So yes, let's sell the fight! I'm with you.
Genuine freedom?
Why does everyone think we have this magical will.
Our wills are dependent.
Its the craziest thing.
There is no such thing as a free will apart from God.
There is only one truly free and genuine will and thats clearly and biblically God.
Everything else is absolutely dependent.
We have a dependent will.
This is why they keep going back and forth with words that continuously need to be rehashed because they aren't biblical.
We uses phrases like "he is not the author of sin" that creates more confusion. Use a different word!!!! Its not that hard. I know what you mean.
There is no such thing as a "libertarian" free will.
We are clearly dependent. We make no sense.
Our wills dont exist in a vacuum and no one can argue that without appealing to some magical scenario.
I just put the kids to bed. So gives me a little more time lol. @RossBainesArt I need to buy a piece of artwork from you now lol. We both like MMA so it will be related to that. I'll check out your website. I'm not joking either, just to make sense in the old wallet lol. But back to business.
Your question: "who decreed those desires?"
A: God decreed all the events and situations and upholds all things for the supremacy of Christ in all things. The sinful desires in those decreed events are man's.
Ok, under theistic determinism who decreed those desires?
This is very important because to (rightly) say God temps no one, but simultaneously decrees the very desires that lead to temptation, needs some serious explanation. But not from quantum mechanics. Just good old logic and reason would be preferable.
@RossBainesArt@ManassehRJones I just gave you a logical question. It answers it.
Can anyone be good without God ultimately supplying that goodness? You have your answer about desires
And you need not look further than the book of Job. Everything about the book of Job answers all of these questions.
