In Ghana and Africa many mistake swift leadership as a product of only military rule. Decisive governance isn’t exclusive to authoritarian systems.
Democracies can be equally swift when leaders have the political will, administrative discipline, and resolve to act.

On this lovely Sunday morning, I am compelled to share a brief yet impactful piece to motivate individuals who may be struggling, particularly those who have been affected by the actions of individuals or the actions of others. A distinguished individual, a renowned author and intellectual closely associated with the President, demonstrated great kindness by sending me a thoughtful gift inscribed with the phrase Acta Non Verba. Upon expressing my sincere gratitude, I received a heartwarming response that has stayed with me.
The response read, 'JB, this is just to tell you that in the most unexpected places you are appreciated, people notice, people respect you and you will be surprised by how many people, truly admire and care about you.'
It serves as a reminder that God is always present for everyone, looking at the heart and understanding our innermost thoughts, even when we attempt to hide them. God's judgment is fair and based on the good in people, not influenced by personal hatred.
There are numerous reasons, big and small, to be thankful for and to trust that God will continue to provide personal and remarkable reminders to inspire and motivate us. #actanonverba

On behalf of His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama, I had the honour of serving as the Reviewing Officer at the National Cadet Corps Parade held as part of the 66th Republic Day Celebrations.
The event began with an inspection of the parade, followed by an impressive display of precision, discipline, and teamwork by cadets drawn from all regions of Ghana. I commend the cadets for their outstanding performance.
I conveyed our sympathies to the families and communities affected by the recent floods and called on all Ghanaians to cooperate with the security and emergency services.
This year’s celebration marks 72 years of the National Cadet Corps, an institution that has played a vital role in nurturing discipline, leadership, patriotism, and service among Ghana’s youth. More than 10,000 cadets participated in this year’s nationwide Republic Day activities.
I encouraged tutors and volunteer officers to continue mentoring and developing the cadets, and urged the cadets themselves to uphold the high standards set by their elders.
We recognized the board and leadership of the National Cadet Corps, volunteer officers, coordinators, heads of educational institutions, regional directors of education, and the many teachers, parents, drivers, mentors, and volunteers whose dedication continues to strengthen the programme.
I remind the cadets that true discipline is demonstrated by reliability, respecting time, serving others with humility, and maintaining integrity. These values are essential for building the Ghana we all want.
