Mark was a reminder that behind every "neglected" disease is a human story of passion & strength. As we advocate for a #NewPublicHealthOrder, we do it for neglected populations who deserve a chance to live.
Rest in peace Mark https://t.co/Q9edcZ8eB9
Today we remember Mark, a fisherman from Turkana County, Kenya, who lived with mycetoma for +10 years. More than his illness, he was a lover of music and a recording gospel artist. We honor him by continuing our work developing better treatments for people living with NTDs.
Today is World NTD Day. Here’s how we can all play our part in ending the neglect;
👉🏾 Unite
👉🏾 Act
👉🏾 Eliminate - This #WorldNTDDay, we join @DNDi to call for greater investment in research and
innovation to deliver life-saving solutions to the people who need them most.

Less than 30% of Phase I trial participants are women. This is an issue, as this can lead to unsuitable drug dosages and put women's health at risk.
Insightful article by @JamwalNidhi, featuring insights from the recent DNDi’s InSciLead report.

@KURAroads@NairobiWater@bonifacemwangi@SakajaJohnson the contractor along Masaba Road who left the water pipes exposed is the source of this problem. Why dig up the trench if you had no plan of laying the pipes?
@NairobiWater why is it so hard to get this leakage along Masaba Road fixed permanently to avoid this wastage?
You came dug the sidewalk months ago & left heaps of soil leaving the main water supply pipe exposed. It's time you got a class action lawsuit. This is unacceptable.
The #CPHIA2025 highlights the critical role of government leadership in achieving better health outcomes.
Sustainable progress starts with strong national planning & dedicated budgets that put equitable healthcare access at the centre of development. #HealthForAll

The #NNN2025 has begun! It kicked off with a powerful call from communities with lived experience: we must be participants, not just beneficiaries, in decision-making, policy change, and project design. Looking forward to 3 days of vital conversations on neglected diseases.
WHA is still the most important platform where the future of #globalhealth is discussed. Yet, the voices of children are still too often missing from the table.
I reflected on this in a short viewpoint article for @BMJ_PO with insights from the #WHA78!
