The biggest upgrade in my trading wasn’t learning another indicator.
It was changing the question I asked.
When I started, most of my attention was on the chart.
Where is the entry?
Where is support?
Where is resistance?
Where’s the liquidity?
Where can I put my SL and TP?
And honestly, I still look at all of those things.
But at some point, I started asking a different question :
Why is the market moving like this in the first place?
That question opened a much bigger rabbit hole for me.
Because crypto isn’t an island.
$Bitcoin doesn’t wake up every morning and decide what it wants to do independently from the rest of the financial world.
>Stocks matter.
>Gold matters.
>Commodities matter.
>Interest rates matter.
>Liquidity matters.
>Macro matters.
Even if I never plan to become a stock trader, understanding what happens outside crypto can give me more context for what’s happening inside it.
And that’s something I wish I understood earlier.
I used to think learning more markets meant I had to start trading everything.
Omo I don’t think that’s true anymore.
Sometimes you don’t need to trade an asset.
You just need to understand the market around it.
For example, one of the simplest things I found interesting while digging deeper into how global markets work is how price actually gets discovered.
Nobody sits in a room and says:
“Bitcoin is $115,000 today.”
Same thing with gold & stock.
There isn’t some central person deciding the exact price everyone must accept.
It’s basically an ongoing auction.
Buyers have a price they’re willing to pay so do Sellers
The highest bid meets the lowest ask, and that’s where trades happen.
Simple!!
But when you actually understand that, you start looking at the market differently.
~You start paying attention to liquidity.
~You start thinking about the spread.
~You start understanding why some markets can absorb size easily while others move violently when someone places a relatively large order. ( crime pumps and dumps )
And suddenly, the chart isn’t the entire story anymore.
It’s just one part of the story.
That’s the cognitive leap I’m trying to make with my own trading.
Moving from:
“Where do I enter?”
to:
“What’s actually happening here?”
From:
“Why did price pump?”
to:
“What is driving this move?”
From only studying crypto…
to understanding the bigger market that crypto sits inside.
That’s also why I found @MEXC Opportunity Compass interesting.
The idea isn’t simply “here are more markets for you to trade.”
It’s about helping people understand the markets they’re getting access to, from what’s beyond crypto to how global markets actually work.
Two episodes are already live, and there’s a whole learning path being built around the idea:
Know the Market, Know Your Opportunities.
I’m still learning myself, but one thing trading has taught me is that the more you understand the market, the less you have to blindly react to it.
So let me ask you:
What’s one thing about stocks, gold, commodities or traditional finance that you wish someone had explained to you when you first started trading crypto?
