The #AfricaMercy has officially begun her sixth field service in Madagascar.
For 69-year-old Delphine, the ship’s return was life-changing news. She had lost her sight due to cataracts and became the first patient to receive surgery aboard the ship during this field service.

Since she was born, Feima was seen for her cleft lip before people ever saw her smile. Her mother never stopped believing that things could change.
Feima received free cleft lip surgery on board the #GlobalMercy and now, her smile is filled with confidence, joy, and hope.
After giving birth to her son, Aimee developed a gynecological condition that completely changed her life.

Born premature in Madagascar with a cleft condition, Alfredo's mother feared for his survival and struggled to feed him.
She kept seeking help and eventually brought him to the #AfricaMercy, where he received the surgery he needed.
Today, Alfredo is healthy and thriving💙
The #AfricaMercy has arrived in Toamasina, Madagascar, to her third consecutive field service in the nation.
The hospital ship will reopen her doors for another seven months of free, life-changing surgeries and surgical training in partnership with Ministry of Public Health.

After four months of maintenance in Durban, the #AfricaMercy has set sail.
Next stop: Madagascar, where volunteers and crew will reopen the hospital and continue serving patients who have been waiting for her return.

There are no vascular surgeons in Sierra Leone, but aboard the #GlobalMercy nine local residents received specialized training to help change that.
