Local history, family history and other random miscellany;
here, there and everywhere.
Researching the stained glass windows of Joyce Meredith (1892-1962).
One of the many unexpected extras on my Joyce Meredith Scottish roadtrip was this vibrant Alf Webster window (Melchizedek 1915) in St Michael's Dumfries #StainedGlassSunday@Websters_Museum
Pilgrim Window at Newnham on Severn for #StainedGlassSunday and an interesting concept where 'the face of the pilgrim is a composite, based on photos of Dr Selby and his wife'. (Edward Payne, 1972)
To @ChCh_Oxford in search of hoopoe and pink toilet, but found so much more. Glorious hues in NW corner with new Tom Denny window and this delight by Abraham van Linge, Jonah under a gourd tree (not pears as I thought!) #StainedGlassSunday
Final day of a family holiday in Cornwall and another early morning coastal walk came up with the goods - a Hoopoe in and around the gardens at Bass Point, which showed pretty well in the end! A much-wanted self-found tick.
