I generally avoid politics here, but I can tell you with certainty that the five & a half million #selfemployed people in the UK will look back on this moment & remember how the government has done sweet fuck all for them.
#CoronaCrisis
Rishi Sunak: "When this is over - and it will be over - we want to look back on this moment and remember the small acts of kindness done by us and to us. We want to remember how we thought first of others and acted with decency... it's on all of us"
The Government has announced plans to impose a catastrophic 50% funding cut to arts subjects at higher education (HE) level in England, including music.

@KimmyFalconer @Hermesparcels I'm sure you're right but it's a last-ditch attempt! It's a shame because I know the local delivery person is actually really good, very conscientious. The problem is at the depot. It's probably been nicked or stabbed with a forklift or something so has been binned ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
@Hermesparcels this was supposed to be a max 5 day delivery. Even with the bank holiday w/end it should be out by now.
Your 'UK contact call centre' is nothing but an automated service. 'Live chat' is a bot. Where is my parcel & how can I speak to a real person?

@letclothesbe@volewriter@vivobarefoot do excellent children's shoes. I'm a big fan of minimalist shoes too, I hate heels and anything tight. I'd sooner not wear them at all, though it's not very practical ๐คฃ
They expect professional #musicians to work for nothing at a profit-making event when the music industry has been decimated. It costs ยฃ20 to hire a BLANKET for this event. But perhaps caterers etc. are also paid in picnic hampers?

@suzanne_moore Chili, soup, stew, curry, pulled bbq chicken/pork, chicken casserole, stock, ham. You don't always have to use the pressure function, it's also a slow cooker.
@letclothesbe I do remember that even though my primary school didn't allow girls to wear trousers (in the 80s) the Asian girls were allowed to wear shalwar, though not all of them did.
@letclothesbe I remember not being allowed to wear trousers at primary school <shudder> all girls learned the trick of tucking skirt into knickers when doing cartwheels/handstands. And the horrible humiliation when they came untucked.
@BARBARABULL11@FondOfBeetles Chips as in fish & chips. Butty is a Northern term for sandwich. A chip butty can also be made in a barm cake for extra authenticity points.
@BARBARABULL11@FondOfBeetles Chip butty. White bread, butter, proper chip shop chips with tons of salt & malt vinegar.
Enjoy. Then wait for coronary event.
