Since the Hyde Amendment of '76, our government has been derelict in its protection of the rights of many women. This #BlackMaternalHealthWeek, we MUST support Black mothers and fight for reproductive justice.
It's #BlackMaternalHealthWeek! In the face of continued negligence towards Black maternal health, advocates are applying pressures across the country. We must remind ourselves of this truth: "Our Bodies STILL Belong to Us: Reproductive Justice NOW!"

Part memoir, part call to arms, Hoffman’s book offers an engaging and thought-provoking assessment of how we lost the right to abortion and what we need to do today to achieve “legal abortion on demand nationwide.”

Don't miss out on your chance to hear from reproductive rights activist @MerleHoffman, at our Friday Night Salon tomorrow! Merle helped to establish one of the first abortion clinics in the United States in 1971—two years before Roe v. Wade. Join us: https://t.co/gXJOUQH4OO
As oral arguments begin for the #mifepristone SCOTUS case today, remember that keeping mifepristone legal and accessible is the BARE MINIMUM! Don't kid yourself that it replaces what we lost with #Dobbs.
🚨Today SCOTUS is hearing oral arguments for the case that seeks to restrict access to mifepristone. This same Court overturned Roe — and now another historic abortion case is on their doorstep.
If they side with anti-abortion extremists, the effects would be devastating.
When reproductive rights are under attack, what do we do? Stand up, write back! Join us next Friday for an inspiring Salon with author and activist @MerleHoffman. Register for this free, virtual event here: https://t.co/gXJOUQH4OO #writingworkshop#reprorights
Dr. George Tiller knew that THERE IS NO CHOICE WITHOUT PROVIDERS. Facing ongoing legal and violent harassment, he continued to work for women daily. Here I am pictured with Dr. George Tiller a leader in NAF. He was murdered in 2009 by anti-abortionist Paul Hill.
Circa 2007.
I established one of the first abortion centers in the nation. The year was 1971 and we opened shortly after New York legalized abortion 3 years before the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision. Now 52 years later we are still here, still open, and still proudly serving women.
I have been fighting for women’s rights for over 50 years. Now that Roe has been overturned, will we normalize our status as second-class citizens or will we rise up with power and wisdom and rebuild!? #MyBodyMyChoice#TrustWomen#abortionrights#officiallymerlehoffman
