And just like that, my time in the MSc IMS program has come to an end. It felt strange seeing our class empty today but I felt so happy and proud of my classmates’ final showcase posters! Truly couldn’t have ask for a better group to spend this past year with! 💜
That’s a wrap on our clinical science rotation! 🩺 We gained meaningful experiences working with the Maternal Fetal Medicine OBs and nurses at @LHSCCanada to create healthcare education surveys and a new protocol on managing opioid use during pregnancy!
It’s been amazing getting to see the TIME program in action throughout our Masters program! Next week we start observerships in the community and clinic! Looking forward to learning more about community based health care and its positive impacts!
Exciting new article that talks about the TIME program at @LHSCCanada! The IMS Maternal-Fetal Health team worked alongside the Dept. of Midwifery for our CEL rotation to develop questionnaires for this new collaborative program! 👶 @MerlinThomas98

Last and definitely not the least, I’m so thankful for the amazing friends Ive met through this program. They are not only amazing to work with, but genuine people I love spending time with! #IMSAdvantage
We were also fortunate to work with @DBHardyLab for our #basicscience rotation! We researched and presented the effects of CBD on fertility, pregnancy, postpartum & postnatal outcomes. Thankful for Dr. Hardy’s mentorship & the valuable skills gained!
Speaking of rotations, #MScIMS also finished half of our community-engaged learning rotations this week! This term, we worked with the Dept. of Midwifery (Erika) at @LHSCCanada to help kick-start the TIME program! We’ll resume in the new year w/ observership & an REB application!
@DBHardyLab@Phoebe_UWO haha Thank you so much Dr. Hardy! It was so great to learn from you and your research and we’re so grateful for the opportunity to work with you!!
This week we finished our second course on “designing, analyzing, and interpreting medical science research”.
While I have learned a lot over the past 2 months, more importantly I’ve made 15 great friends who have made being away from home so much easier 💙#IMSfriends
Our last #MScIMS#SciComm class w @drsoup09 was my favourite! Everyone gave 5min lessons on topics of interest & it was 3hrs of learning, laughs, passion & creativity! 😄 When #publicspeaking know that passion is infectious! If you get nervous, slow down your voice & #Shakeitoff!
Hey Michael…I can relate. I used to write scripts before #publicspeaking to avoid rambling but in #MScIMS we learned that can turn into a snooze fest 😴
Instead, make a bullet point outline w/ all the topics you want to cover! Take deep breaths & let your passion come through!
