@RealGDT So the suffering has a purpose. The salvation has a purpose. And it’s always about affecting a larger community, not just the individual who suffers/survives.

@RealGDT David is told he’ll be king, but first becomes a servant in the king’s house. Joseph will lead a nation but suffers in prison. But this suffering is preparation for leadership. And suffering & success have purpose. Both are necessary to save/impact others.
