@deepUNKNWN Yup, even in our “scene” the hype behind knowin every ID, every VIP, edit, when who played this etc.I kinda believe the “culture” with agents, promoters, groupies, all devalue the music. everyone wants to be the guy that knows a guy, and so everyone is there for the wrong reasons

@deepUNKNWN this paired with social media and edm influencers just make the whole scene trendy, and sure some people will evolve their tastes, but many many many many more don’t care enough about what’s being played for it to matter

@deepUNKNWN when the party is main focus of the event it incentivizes production companies to have similar cookie cutter music because 1) people will already feel a familiarity to a track (no need for introspection on how a piece makes you feel) and 2) the formula sells tickets, liquor, etc
