For decades humans have been suffering on Windows because Microsoft wouldn’t capitulate on this. If there was ever a sign the company’s true customers are now AI agents, this is it.

@unclebobmartin As though “The Agents” is a coherent idea when we have like 4 or 5 companies releasing new versions every couple of weeks that have dozens of knobs and even more techniques and libraries and tools you can use
@VictorTaelin@jeremyphoward I think it’s important to realize as time as gone on it’s been less and less meaningful to just say “AI.” For this one, Opus is just stupid, you should not be using it at all. You should also try using sub agents to ruthlessly critique the work.
The funniest thing about the Bernie proposal is he couldn't just ask for 5% or 10%, which obviously if ASI happens would be an unfathomable fortune to nationalize. He had to go for half.
Based on replies, a hypothesis: massive alpha in a few minutes a day cultivating deep understanding of AI-built software, which will let you direct agents far more effectively.
Most won't bother, being satisfied with Claude bamboozling them into a false sense of understanding.
I’m actually struggling to decide if I should spend meaningful time to solve this problem or not. I have some good, novel ideas to help humans improve understanding of AI generated code. But the elephant in the room is: does this problem matter? Or is it a fool’s errand.
I feel like every programmer is falling into the same trap: thinking that if you just ask Claude some questions and read the answers you can deeply understand a system. Your brain doesn’t work that way, you need to be forced to think, prove your knowledge, and recall over time.
