“Gen AI is for losers.”
That’s what someone replied to me today after I posted an AdArena update.
And here’s what makes it interesting:
He’s actually a very talented animator. Years of experience. Someone who spent a long time mastering a craft that GenAI is now changing incredibly fast.
So I can understand where the reaction comes from.
But I think this is the bigger debate:
Is GenAI destroying creative craft…
or is it simply creating a new craft that people now have to master?
I obviously have a bias — I’m building AdArena around AI creators.
But I’m genuinely curious.
Where do you stand?

Forget “sell me this pen.” Give 1,700 creators the same brief and see how many different ways there are to make people want it.
Referencing one of the greatest marketing movies of all time.
Special thanks to our talented @timikareem for bringing this on.

Before AI, @timikareem was running Meta ads.
That’s probably why he doesn’t just make great-looking ads. He understands brands, customers, and performance.

He Doesn’t Just Make Ads. He Understands Brands.

If you know the American sports mindset, this tracks.
They didn’t come for tribal war. They came for the show. Beer, laughs, a night out. Even if the greatest player alive just scored a banger against their side, they’re allowed to enjoy it.
They bought a ticket to entertainment. Not a blood feud.
@CTtheDisrupter Scaling winners with emotion is how a strong ad becomes a tired ad overnight. Creative fatigue shows up before the dashboard admits it.
When 100+ creators answer one brief with 100+ angles, the shippable opens share a small habit.
They name the friction before they sell the fix.
Not a launch trailer.
A line the buyer already muttered this week.
Late invoice. Empty cart. Another scroll with nothing to buy.
Then the product shows up as the exit, not the hero montage.
The other pile opens on glow. Logo. A voice that sounds like every other launch.
Pretty. Still no itch. Those never make it past a cold first watch.
Creators who win this layer write the annoyance first.
CMOs who win it score the open on recognition, not production value.
The craft is not more polish.
It is making the friction land before the product does.
