@FracSlap About 75% of hands nowadays don’t know how either. With reusable tools like Fortress and disposable tools like DB, it’s a lost art. Same can be said about finding a short in a toolstring. Automation has changed the game. Big oilfield salaries for field ops will be dead in 2 yrs.
@Tejanobrown@FracSlap I don’t know. Looks promising from where they were to where they’re now. They just brought that technology to the Permian. Been trialing in south Texas for a while. I think they’ve got it figured out now. The gun building trailer and setting tool issues. Next is the automated PD
@Tejanobrown@FracSlap Just saw a gun building trailer that now includes connecting a disposable tool that is already preloaded! They’ve been talking about it for months and now it’s here. Us old school guys are cooked.
@KentGra88631041 Whats coming is not a bust but a correction. Lots of jobs will be lost and won’t come back. Automation on the service side and efficiency is going to put people out of work.
@TradeRautha@FracLost CoP had already started on completions side. Lots of consultants leaving to other places due to remote fracs becoming a thing over there now. Some trying to get on with DB and Continental.
