🔹 Primary Curriculum Framework
The Primary Curriculum Framework (PCF) refers to the overarching framework of the redeveloped curriculum. This comprehensive framework underpins the Redeveloped Primary Curriculum specifications launched in September 2025.
Our dedicated Special School Primary Curriculum Team looks forward to supporting and collaborating with Special Schools to build a shared understanding of the PCF.
Special schools will be offered a training day in Terms 2 and 3 to deepen understanding of the PCF before reviewing individual specifications.

✨Today marks an important milestone for primary education in Ireland.
🚸Earlier today the Minister for Education and Youth officially launched the redeveloped Primary School Curriculum which will be introduced to all primary and special schools in the coming years.
📘 The Primary School Curriculum has been redeveloped by building on the strengths of the current curriculum while responding to new emerging priorities for children's learning.
👨👦It sets out a vision for learning that is inclusive, creative and responsive to children’s lives today.
📽️This short video provides a brief overview of the development process and some important features of the curriculum specifications.
