Nearly all my life, I have been fortunate enough to play golf courses worldwide and design over 135. At my old farm in South Africa, I had a 9-hole course I could practice on as Vivienne and I were quite far away from any other course. This gave me a personal experience of how difficult it can be to keep a course in top shape. My design philosophy is to ensure the golf course is environmentally sensitive and sustainable by using minimal water, as that is humanity’s most valuable resource. Without the dedication and steadfast care of the thousands of golf course superintendents across the globe, we would not be able to enjoy golf as we do. Agronomy is certainly a particularly tedious profession whose work is never finished. So today, I want to #ThankASuper for all their early mornings, late nights, and every minute in between they spend caring for our links, all in the pursuit of excellence. GP
