Yesterday, I adopted the oldest, sickest, and most broken dog at the shelter. I’ll never forget the look in his eyes. When I stepped into his cage, he didn’t even glance up—he was so used to being overlooked. Curled up in the corner, he had already accepted his fate. The volunteer kept asking me, “Are you sure about this one? Are you sure?” Without hesitation, I said, “YES! This is my dog.” As the cage opened, three other animals tumbled out, but I went straight to him. Suddenly, he looked up at me as if he were seeing an angel. I wrapped him in my arms and whispered, “You’re going to be happy again.” He fell asleep in my lap—probably the first peaceful sleep he’d ever known.
Give them a chance. Give them love. They need us.

All I can say is if men had an equivalent procedure to mammograms where their testicles were squeezed flat in a machine they’d have invented a better way to do it in a drop second.
@HalfwayUpBooks @rurooie@OBrienPress @BooksellingI @IrishKidsBooks Oh our family (5 & 2 Yr old) loves this book! I lent it to our Dadcoz I know he'll be so amused by it too, it's so wonderfully clever & creative. Thanks for recommending it
There's a gap in the market for Sunday morning babysitting.
Someone who'll let themselves in, take your kids downstairs, dress & feed them. Followed by a quick trip to the playground, before dropping them back to you at 10.30am with a hot cup of coffee.

Hugely saddened by Sinead's passing. May her beautiful soul now rest in peace. I filmed this just a few months back at the @choiceprize, I hope to god she felt every drop of love for her in the room that night. Our nation is in mourning at her loss 💔
I am so deeply saddened to hear that Sinead has died. A human who helped the world see things differently at a personal cost. We owe her a great debt for helping drag Ireland out of a grim past & making it relevant on the world stage. RIP #SineadOConnor 💔
